The Rev. Christopher Harpster

Deacon

The Rev. Christopher Harpster is serving as Deacon to the Parish of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kingsport, TN.

He was ordained as a Vocational Deacon in December of 2007. He serves as the Youth Coordinator for grades 6 through 12, as well as the Christian Education Director.

Deacon Chris brought with him to our parish over 20 years of experience of working with young adults. He has successfully served as youth director of two other Episcopal churches, and has started curricula like Journey 2 Adulthood, to which the young adults have responded well. He also has served for the last decade as the chaplain of the Episcopal University Ministry at East Tennessee State University.

Deacon Chris is happily married to wife Deborah, and together they are raising three wonderful (adolescent) children. The whole family is very active in the parish and they enjoy calling St. Paul’s their church home.
