“EYC” (Episcopal Youth Community) is our Christian Formation program for youth in grades 6 through 12. EYC meets after the 10:15 service on Sundays (check schedule below for any cancellations), at approximately 11:15 am.
The youth are divided into two separate groups for the lesson portion of the meeting. Grades 6 – 8 go to the Rite 13 class, which is a class that helps them understand the Episcopal faith and prepares them for a choice about whether to be confirmed into the church or not.
Grades 9 – 12 attend a class called Journey to Adulthood. In this class they learn how to put their faith into action. They learn the tools to let their faith guide them in real life situations. They learn the value of their faith and their place in the wider world. This group also goes on a pilgrimage every two years. This pilgrimage is designed to allow for spiritual growth through journey, for a chance to practice their faith through Mission, and for their fellowship to grow through bonding activities.
For the year 2012 (June) we are planning to go to New York City for our pilgrimage.
