Growing Together as a Family!

SPEND 2
more hours per month with others @ St. Paul’s
GIVE 1
written affirmation per month to someone @ St. Paul’s
KNOW 1
person better each month @ St. Paul’s

SPEND 2:
From this point forward, try to spend another two hours each month doing things with others at St. Paul’s. This time can simply be in fellowship, although additional service to the church in groups or committees is always welcome!
This call for a tiny bit more of your time will hopefully accomplish the following:
- Shake you up out of your usual routine for church involvement
- Extend your circle of acquaintances (and possibly friends) at St. Paul’s
- Help ensure greater attendance at church-related events
We have about 300 active members at our church. With everyone’s participation, this will equate to 600 more people hours per month at St. Paul’s!
.
What Can I Do to Be Successful?
Our resources to help you:
- Find 2-1-1 Tracker Cards at our church. These are located in card holders on tables near the entryway as well as sanctuary entrance. Take one to track your progress each month – Tracker Cards give you a nice checklist to help you track your time.
- Check our Calendar of Events for upcoming meetings or events!
- Pick up a blue booklet of Church Opportunities, or print one out here: [file to be uploaded soon!]
- See our webpage: What We Do. This page, and links from this page, provide information on multiple ways to become involved at St. Paul’s.
-
GIVE 1:
Each month, give a brief note in writing to another person at St. Paul’s. This note only needs to be a sentence or two, and is simply a way to tell others at St. Paul’s that they matter.
.
This call for a 5-minute action will hopefully accomplish the following:
- Encourage you to look for the contributions others make at our church, simply by their presence
- Create a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the people at St. Paul’s
- Offer a stepping stone toward new relationships and friendships at St. Paul’s
- Raise an awareness of the appreciation others at St. Paul’s have for you
One note is simply a minimum – give as many as you would like each month! Please remember those who might slip under the radar: People who are quiet, those who work behind the scenes, our teens and young children, new-comers, and shut-ins.
.
What Can I Do to Be Successful?
Our resources to help you:
- Affirmation notecards are available in multiple locations throughout the church. Pick one up, write the recipient’s name on the front, and your brief note on the back. Then simply put the card (name out) on our two Affirmation Boards that flank the name tag board in our hallway.
- You can also download and print a page of Affirmation Notecards here: Affirmation Notecard2
- While cardstock works best for durability, the kind of paper is irrelevant. What matters is your message!
- Our 2-1-1 Tracker Cards have a checkbox to help you track your completion of this portion of 2-1-1.
- Don’t forget to watch for any cards others have posted for you!
- Want to give a special pick-me-up or thank-you token? Look for the person’s Favorite Things sheet and see what will give them a lift! You could loan a book that fits into their interests, give a little candy, or suggest a collective meal out together at a favorite restaurant.
-
KNOW 1
Each month, find out a little more about someone else at St. Paul’s. You might find out more about someone you already know at our church, but the spirit of this call is to get to know someone you don’t already know very well.
.
This call to know one person better each month will hopefully accomplish the following:
- Deepen our appreciation of the perspectives and contributions of others at St. Paul’s
- Build a connected network of individuals throughout our church who know each other well enough to offer meaningful support
How you find out more about someone is up to you, but if you spend more time at St. Paul’s doing some new activities, getting to know someone else better is likely to be a natural consequence.
