“Help Wanted”

This page is intended for the purpose of letting parishioners know where we currently need volunteer help within our church.

Do you or your group need volunteers? Send the request to webmaster@saint-pauls.org, and it will be added to the table below. Then check in on this page periodically to see who has volunteered.

Can you help? Reply with a comment below (or to webmaster@saint-pauls.org), and your name will be added to the table. Please include an e-mail address or phone number so the person needing your help can contact you. (If you prefer not to have contact information listed, just send that part to webmaster@saint-pauls.org and it will be forwarded to the individual needing the assistance.)

If you are looking for the many ways you can serve at St. Paul’s, you can also go to our Lay Ministry Opportunities page for a list of groups in our church that can use helpers!

Remember – your help is always valuable! Just because others have signed up doesn’t mean that your help wouldn’t also be needed…

Grounds Crew

St. Paul’s relies on volunteers to mow, landscape, and keep the church grounds looking presentable. Unfortunately, in the last few years attrition has reduced the number of mowing volunteers by 50%. We desperately need at least 4 additional volunteers who will commit to 3-4 hours a month (April – November) mowing, trimming, and raking leaves either individually or as a member of an existing team. Please contact Rick Snyder (245-6913) or Hal Yungmeyer (247-8911).

KCMC

KCMC needs host/hostess volunteers three or four times a year. Hours are 9:00a – 12:00p. St. Paul’s’ week is May 2nd. Please call Eleanor Ford (288-9005) to volunteer. For more information on KCMC, click here to visit our page.

Ushers

Saint Paul`s is blessed with a dedicated core of volunteer ushers for the Sunday 10:15 service. When called upon, they respond with a smile and a positive reply. The usher duties are varied and include every thing from greeting the congregation as they enter the church to turning off the lights after the service. Their main duty however is to insure that the congregation can worship with as little disruption as possible.

We are always looking for new Usher Volunteers and any one wishing to become an usher (Man or Woman) please contact Larrie Hooper or the Church Office (or post a comment here). God Bless, Thank You

Shepherd Watch
More volunteers are needed for Shepherd Watch, a new program developing at Holston Valley Hospital to ensure that dying patients without family or friends do not die alone. Shepherd Watch is a ministry of presence to those who are alone. Please contact Ann or Jack VandeVate if you are interested or have questions.

LEM: Readers, Chalice Bearers
If you are interested in reading (lessons or prayers) or serving wine at communion, please contact Tim Bradshaw. This is an ongoing need.
